Welcome
It’s hard to believe that we are at the end of this school year. It seems like only yesterday that we began. You have learned and grown so much this past year. I hope that you take the lessons you have learned in and outside the classroom with you as you continue your journey through life.Â
Â
Welcome to Virginia Middle School. I am looking forward to working with you this year. This year you may be in my class for United States History or Math. I am hoping that this blog will help us throughout the year.

Nice blog, Tracey. Keep up the good work.
Tracey, I chuckled when I saw the name of your site. It is most appropriate and I think your students and parents will enjoy interacting with you during this school year via your blog.
It always makes me chuckle too. I’ve been using that name since my first day teaching almost 20 years ago. I’ve always been a big fan of Disney — Walt Disney & I have a unique connection. Walt Disney passed away on the exact day that I was born. I discovered that little fact when I was in the 5th grade doing an autobiography for English class (Thank you, Mrs. Musick!)
Today, Dingusland is the name of the learning environment in my classroom. I tell the kids each year that as they enter our classroom they are entering a new country — Dingusland. Then I proceed to tell them how things work here. We are a family. All are valued. All deserve respect. The only stupid question is the one that isn’t asked.
Tracey,
No wonder you and Nick got along so well. Dr. Seuss died on the exact day Nick was born!
